Construction Equipment Guide

The all-new W170B and W190B wheel loaders from New Holland have more power, improved functionality and larger, more accommodating cabs than previous models. Tier-III compliant engines are rated at 195 gross hp (145 kW) for the W170B and 227 hp (169 kW) for the W190B. The W170B is available in both standard and tool carrier configurations.

“While these new units are more powerful than before, they also deliver better fuel economy,” said Eric Winkler, New Holland brand marketing manager. “Both machines come standard with four power modes. By utilizing the proper power mode, operators can match machine performance to their needs while maximizing fuel efficiency.”

• Max power mode allows work to be done in extreme conditions by delivering peak horsepower and maximum hydraulic flow for max productivity.

• Standard power mode is for more normal conditions and produces less horsepower for improved fuel economy while giving max hydraulic flow and power.

• Economy power mode is for lift-and-carry applications with lower horsepower, max hydraulic power, flow and best fuel economy.

• Auto power mode allows the machine to automatically match the power curve to the application for improved fuel economy, hydraulic power, flow and max productivity.

Manufactured in Fargo, N.D., these new wheel loaders feature redesigned cabs for better visibility to the attachments and the front tires, more floor space, a new steering column with standard LCD screen to check pressures and recalibrate the calipers and easier-to-read switches for better functionality.
