Altorfer CAT held its annual Iron Night customer appreciation event Oct. 11 in Elmhurst, Ill.
Approximately 150 guests attended the event, which was held for the first time at Altorfer's newly acquired facility in Elmhurst following the company's recent acquisition of Patten CAT.
Demonstrations of the Cat 320 and 323 Next Generation excavators were among the many highlights of Iron Night, during which guests had opportunities to get behind the controls and test out the Next Gen machines for themselves.
In addition to the new excavators, the Cat RemoteTask skid steer was on site for customers to demo, and several other machines were on display for customers to inspect.
Booths also were available for guests to stop by and discuss Altorfer's product support capabilities and Cat financing, where representatives of Cat corporate were on hand to assist.
Altorfer CAT executives, including Derek Altorfer, president and CEO, were on hand to meet with customers.
Altorfer brought in Steamboat Barbecue of Wheaton, Ill., to prepare dinner and Cater by Design of Morton Grove, Ill., to provide refreshments.
Before dinner, attendees listened to Brian Stellbrink, excavator market professional of Caterpillar, deliver a presentation on the Next Gen Hex. The presentation focused on the new Cat Connect technology that comes standard from factory: Cat Grade with 2D, Cat Grade with Assist, Cat Payload with 2D.
Stellbrink also talked about optional upgrade features such as Cat Grade with 3D and Cat Grade with Advanced 2D, as well as the new safety and efficiency features that offer 45 percent increased efficiency, 25 percent reduced fuel consumption, and 15 percent lower maintenance costs, all leading to a safer and more comfortable experience for the operator.
Upon arrival at Iron Night, all attendees received an Altorfer CAT-branded bag, hat, Koozie and flashlight. They also received an "event passport" that directed them to different stations throughout the event. A completed passport earned the bearer a chance to win a Caterpillar cooler.
