The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announced night work on the Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16) to facilitate the reconstruction of the Exit 6 Interchange on the Spaulding Turnpike in Dover.

On Oct. 1, 2018, nighttime construction operations began on the Spaulding Turnpike in order to allow for the demolition of the old Exit 6 bridge that previously carried U.S. Route 4 over the Spaulding Turnpike in Dover. Lane closures and short-term detours were in place on the Spaulding Turnpike southbound and northbound for this work. Message Boards, traffic control devices, signage and uniformed officers/flaggers were used to help direct motorists through the work zone.

This night work is part of the Spaulding Turnpike improvement project in Newington and Dover. Severino Trucking Company Inc. of Candia New Hampshire is the prime contractor for the $67 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in October, 2020.
