In order to better serve its customers in South Jersey, Norris Sales Company Inc. is expanding into the Garden State with a new facility in Winslow Township.

According to Don Zajick, president of Norris Sales, “This new facility will allow us to expand into our already established South Jersey customer base. It also will allow us a more efficient operation for deliveries and pickups in that marketplace.”

A groundbreaking event was held on April 29 at the site. Sue Ann Metzner, mayor of Winslow Township, Norris Sales Company officers and personnel as well as representatives from the construction companies that will be doing the project were on hand to celebrate the new facility.

The new 15,000-sq.-ft. location will be a state-of-the-art, full-service facility offering rentals, sales, service and parts options for customers.

The building will boast a 3,200-sq.-ft. showroom, a covered area for pickups and deliveries and six service bays.

The $1.5-million project provides easy access from the Atlantic City Expressway, Johnson Road and Berlin Cross Keys Road.

This spring, D&L Construction Inc., of Deptford, NJ, is doing the site work, which includes grading the 4.67-acre site.

RAM Construction, of Skippack, PA, will be constructing the building. According to Bob Martino, of RAM, “the company hopes to start the project in two weeks, with completion slated for late summer.”

Rob Sowers has been named general manager at the Jersey facility, with Ed Zoranski as the company’s territory manager. Approximately 12 to 15 employees will be added during the first year, Zajick said.

He added that Norris Sales will host an open house marking the new facility next spring.

Headquartered in Plymouth Meeting, PA, Norris Sales Company offers such product lines as Allmand Brothers, Bil-Jax, Diamond Products, Guest Industries, JLG, MBW, Stihl, Stone, Sullivan, Wacker, Gehl, Honda and Yamaha generators, and many more. The company also offers a full line of electric tools including DeWalt, Milwaukee and Bosch.
