North Georgia Equipment Sales is reaching higher nowadays.

It now offers three models of Genie telehandlers and aerial lifts at its locations in Gainsville, Ga., and Chattanooga, Tenn.

For sale or rent are the S40 and S60 straight boom manlifts and the 6622 telehandlers, which have a 22-ft. (6.7 m) reach and a 6,000-lb. (2,721.6 kg) capacity.

Sales and Rental Manager Brad Raffray said North Georgia chose the Genie line since it’s known by many as “the industry standard.”

Primarily an earthmoving equipment dealer — it represents the Terex and Mustang lines — Raffray said North Georgia brought on Genie to answer customer demand. He said more and more contractors are shifting to vertical construction and needed to add lifts to their fleets.

“We wanted to offer them the complete package,” Raffray said.

So far, the reaction of contractors who have rented the machines has been positive. Raffray said they like the four-wheel-drive, which allows them to get the lift onto the job site before the final grade.

Others have mentioned the Genie machines’ size has allowed them to get into tight spaces.

Genie has certified North Georgia to train operators on all of its manlifts.
