Nortrax, a John Deere Construction & Forestry dealer, opened branches in Ft. Kent, Maine, and Gouverneur, N.Y.

The Ft. Kent, Maine, parts store is stocked with John Deere repair and maintenance products to serve the forestry industry in northern Maine and into Canada. It also carries a full line of John Deere construction equipment, Propac delimber and Morbark chipper parts.

“Our valued customers in this region of Maine will be provided with the unmatched customer service and knowledge Nortrax is known for,” said Dave Porter, parts manager of Nortrax in Maine. “We are looking forward to building long-lasting relationships and providing the top-notch service that comes with owning a John Deere machine.”

The store opened in January with Dale Blier at the counter. Blier has 25 years experience as a forestry equipment operator and parts associate in the Ft. Kent area.

Two of Nortrax’s service technicians also provide support to the area, Porter said. Nortrax has three other operations in Maine: Houlton, Bangor and Westbrook.

The Gouverneur, N.Y., store is fully remodeled and stocked with equipment and a full line of parts for John Deere Construction & Forestry customers in northern New York, said Tim Irish, parts manager. Specifically, it serves St. Lawrence, Jefferson and Lewis counties.

The opening is a homecoming, Irish noted. Nortrax had a branch in Gouverneur until 2001 in the same building. It decided to re-enter the market in order to best serve customers in that region.

“We have parts, we have sales, we have rentals,” Irish said of the initiative.

The store stocks all critical machine down parts, such as starters, alternators, seal kits and hydraulic pumps, as well as maintenance oils and lubes, according to our machine population. Staff also fabricate hydraulic hoses for all makes of equipment. Parts that do have to be ordered arrive quickly because of the store’s proximity to the JohnDeere RegionalDistribution Center in Grimsby, Ontario.

“Many of our customers have remained loyal to Nortrax and John Deere,” Irish said. “Hats are off to them for sticking with us.We’re happy to be back, and the experience we’ve brought to this facility shows that we are committed to the best customer service in the industry.”

Nortrax service technicians will be available from nearby branches including New York branches in Clifton Park and Plattsburgh.
