Nortrax Inc., a John Deere construction and forestry equipment dealer, will add a focused certified used equipment area to its existing Dayton, Ohio, branch.

The new division will include inspections, repairs and certifications for used machines to ensure they meet John Deere’s standards for reliability and productivity.

Before being certified, machines must undergo a rigorous 100-point inspection, which includes an examination of the engine, powertrain, electrical system, transmission, controls, oil sampling, tires and all other aspects of the vehicle.

Vehicles that pass the inspection receive a yellow check, showing that they are certified used and are backed by a John Deere warranty.

“Nortrax is investing in this facility to serve our customers with great equipment and great service, everyday,” said Pedro Negrin, director of used equipment. “With Certified Used machines, customers get the peace of mind that comes with having all major powertrain components covered by John Deere and the assurance that we will be there to support them when they need us.”

The 13,000-sq.-ft. Dayton branch includes four service bays and three technicians as well as a large inventory of parts. This facility and its Nortrax technicians will now specialize in Certified Used equipment, in addition to the new and used equipment they currently service.

Equipment at this branch includes excavators, loaders, backhoes, dozers, motorgraders, skid steers and all other John Deere construction equipment.

“We’re adding this certified used area of focus to better serve customers’ needs,” said Chris Cron, general manager, Dayton store. “With the current economy, many customers are looking for reliable used machines. We want to provide them.”
