It's no secret that the construction industry needs workers — according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report from July, there are 225,000 construction jobs available throughout the U.S.

Post-recession, the demand for residential construction workers has started to increase once again, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) said. But finding workers to do the job is the challenge. According to the NAHB, the industry must recruit younger workers to replace those who are headed for retirement and boost the numbers to help stem the shortage, WCPO reported.

But construction workers, whether they are just starting out, or if they have been around for a while, should know that industry wages from state to state are greatly varied, ranging from just over $12 per hour to almost $26 per hour, WCPO reported.
