Hedco Company, a Case dealer for New York City, Long Island and southern Westchester County, announced that it has come under new ownership.

Martin Hausman, a New York City native, purchased the company this past June, bringing to Hedco vast experience in the distribution industry. His previous company, The Hospac Corporation of Woodside, NY, of which he was president and CEO, is a leading New York critical care medical supplier and equipment distributor.

So how does someone who was involved in the healthcare industry become interested in the construction industry? According to Hausman, the answer is simple: A successful formula for distribution. “Hedco has good product awareness for its Case product line in the metropolitan New York area. And with Case having very good company branding, both Hedco and Case combined have a great reputation in the New York City marketplace.”

But don’t expect Hedco’s formula for success to change. In fact, Hausman emphasizes that the company’s new management will continue being “a very customer-driven organization that is very attuned to listening to and responding to the needs and desires of their customers.” All sales staff and service personnel have remained on board with the new management team.

Hausman also is president of the United Cerebral Palsy of New York City and has served in this position since 1999.

Hedco has two branches: One in the Bronx at 1144 Zerega Ave. and another on Long Island at 262 McCormick Dr. in Bohemia. In addition to Case equipment, which includes everything from skid steers, tractor loader backhoes and excavators, Hedco’s product offerings include the Gilcrest paver line, Earth Force tractor loader backhoes, Eager Beaver trailers and Okada hammers.
