The Ohio Aggregates and Industrial Minerals Association (OAIMA), held its 19th Annual Legislative Reception on Feb. 15 at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio. The reception was attended by nearly 150 legislators and legislative aides who were on hand to discuss industry related issues with OAIMA members and their guests.
Two key issues discussed at the reception were zoning laws and their impact on access to aggregates, and transportation issues created by Ohio Bill SB30, a patchwork of county-wide traffic regulations likely to create confusion which will add to transportation costs.
Other topics discussed at the reception were support for ODOT's two-year budget proposal and the need to protect access to local aggregates sources.
