The Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Association (OAIMIA) held its 2010 annual meeting and trade show at the Hilton Columbus at Easton Nov. 18 and 19.
The two-day event featured educational sessions as well as desk top exhibits from local equipment dealers, national manufacturers, area product suppliers and service providers. Along with a year-end review presented by Pat Jacomet, OAIMA executive director, additional subjects covered were Ohio new mining safety rules, new general air permits and Tier IV interim engine emissions solutions. The sessions also covered ODOT’s proposed new concrete aggregate specifications and a discussion on mining and crushing in Saudi Arabia.

The OAIMA is an Ohio trade association representing the interests of the state’s mining operations, with the exception of coal mining. The association serves those involved with construction materials, such as sand, gravel, crushed stone and slag as well as salt, clay, shale, gypsum, industrial sand, building stone, lime, cement and recycled concrete.
