The Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Association (OAIMA) held its annual meeting and trade show on Nov. 8 to 10 at the Hilton at Easton in Columbus, Ohio. The event opened with a continental breakfast followed by a welcome from OAIMA President, Todd Young of Mar-Zane Materials to open the general session. OAIMA Executive Director Patrick Jacomet made some announcements, and addresses to the session from State Sen. Frank LaRose and Joe Casper of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association followed.

A range of sessions were conducted throughout the event covering such topics as ODOT regulations, mine and quarry safety issues and material processing. Jim Tressel, Youngstown State University president and noted football coach, was a guest speaker at the event. During breaks, attendees had an opportunity to meet with representatives from local equipment dealers, national manufacturers and product and service providers to discuss the latest innovations in equipment and products in the table top exhibit area of the trade show.

The reception, sponsored by OAIMA and show exhibitors, also featured an OA-PAC live auction conducted by Gary Seybold of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers.

The OAIMA is a trade association representing the interests of Ohio's mining operations and those involved with the production of construction materials, such as sand, gravel, crushed stone and slag as well as salt, clay, shale, gypsum, industrial sand, building stone, lime, cement and recycled concrete.
