U.S. Customs and Border Protection tweeted a series of photos of the construction of the concrete border wall prototypes, Oct. 3.

Federal government officials confirmed Sept. 26 that construction had begun on eight prototypes of the border wall in San Diego, the Associated Press reported. The prototypes will each be around 30 ft. high and 30 ft. long, and will be made of both concrete and other materials.

Companies chosen to build the prototypes include:

• Caddell Construction Co., Montgomery, Ala.

• W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Co., Philadelphia, Miss.

• Fisher Sand & Gravel Co., Tempe, Ariz.

• Texas Sterling Construction Co., Houston

• KWR Construction Inc., Sierra Vista, Ariz., and

• ELTA North America Inc., Annapolis Junction, Md.
