(L-R): Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jaclyn Ringstmeier; Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell; Okada America Inc. President Jim Brown; Sharon Township Trustee Joe Canestraro; and Devon Diello, membership and events coordinator of the City of Medina Chamber of Commerce, cut the ribbon to commemorate Okada America's expansion and facility upgrades.

Okada America Inc. held an open house event to showcase the company's recent expansion and facility upgrades at its Medina Sales & Service Center on July 19th. The company has acquired its third building within the complex, located in Medina, Ohio, bringing the total spaces to 30,000 sq. ft.

The newly acquired building adds an additional 10,000 sq. ft. to the Medina Sales & Service Center and will house the primary reception lobby, administrative and service offices, a product showroom, kitchen facilities and increased mounted attachments inventory space. Upgrades to the facility include all new reinforced floors, a 6 ft. deep work pit for dismantling and reassembly of hydraulic hammer top-mounting brackets and power cells and a 10 ton overhead crane with a 35 ft. runway. The original administrative building will now serve as a year-round Sales & Service Training Center.

The newest addition to the company's three buildings was once home to Lebron James' fleet of vehicles and served as a getaway for he and his friends back during his first tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball franchise. A few elements of James' time in the building, including his personal sauna, remain.

Those attending the open house event were given a tour of the facility and treated to lunch catered by JT's Barbeque, a local favorite.

Okada America Inc. President Jim Brown presided over a ribbon cutting ceremony along with Sharon Township Trustee Joe Canestraro; Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jaclyn Ringstmeier; Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell; and Devon Diello, membership and events coordinator of the city of Medina Chamber of Commerce.

Okada hydraulic breakers have been sold in the United States since 1981 and in 1996, Okada America Inc. was formed as a joint venture, giving the brand a domestic presence with increased product range and support. Initially located in two separate facilities in Medina, Ohio, Okada America Inc. ultimately settled at its current location at 904 Medina Road in 2014. The timing also coincided with the company becoming 100 percent owned by joint venture partner Okada AIYON Corporation, a demolition attachment manufacturer in Osaka, Japan.

Okada America Inc. currently operates three major facilities, located in Medina, Ohio, Clackamas, Ore., and Cleburne, Texas, and is recognized as a leader in innovative construction product technology. The company offers a complete line of excavator, loader/backhoe, skid-steer, track loader and mini-excavator mounted attachments. The product line includes hydraulic breakers (TOP Series and ORV Series), primary and secondary crushers, demolition shears, pulverizers, processors, grapples, trommel screening buckets, compactors (OAC Series) and pedestal rock breaker boom systems. The company maintains a distribution network of more than 200 U.S. and Canadian distributors.
