PacWest Machinery Promotes Sumner to Service Manager

PacWest Machinery announced that Scott Sumner has been promoted to the position of service manager of the Oregon market. Sumner has more than 25 years in the construction industry, of which 14 of those years has been with the Volvo brand, most recently as a senior field service technician of PacWest. He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the company's service departments in Portland and Eugene, Ore.

A native of Albuquerque N.M., Sumner has been in the heavy equipment industry since the beginning of his working career.

“PacWest is growing rapidly in Washington, Oregon and northern Idaho,” said Sumner. “There is a great service team within each of our branches, and we are dedicated to giving customers the best possible support.”

Tim Hurst, PacWest general manager of Oregon and southwest Washington, added “Scott has worked with a number of different OEM equipment suppliers in his career and has developed a wide base of knowledge. We are excited to have Scott in this position.”

Sumner will be based in the recently opened Portland, Ore., branch of PacWest, a state-of-the-art 22,000 sq.-ft. facility that sits on six acres which includes ten service bays and an expanded parts warehouse. The new PacWest facility also supports an experienced outside sales team dedicated to serving the company's various markets. The sales team, including their primary territories includes:

• Ed Kanable — Washington, Clackamas and Yamhill counties,

• Mike Stepan — Multnomah county and Southwest Washington

• Tim Harman — Willamette Valley and coastal counties

• Marty Krueger — government sales

PacWest Machinery is one of the newest Volvo Construction Equipment dealers in North America with responsibility for the sales, rental and aftermarket support for the full line of Volvo's general production equipment, road machinery and compact equipment.

The company also sells and services machinery from Metso Minerals, Roadtec, GOMACO, Tymco, SDLG, Etnyre, Broce Brooms, FRD Furukawa and Genesis. PacWest Machinery provides equipment and services to customers from four branches located in Kent and Spokane, Wash. and in Portland and Eugene, Ore., plus additional support from an extensive mobile service fleet.
