The Mid Florida Utilities & Transportation Contractors Association (Mid Florida U&TCA) recently collected donations of toys for The Mustard Seed of Central Florida at its annual Christmas dinner.
Dave Shuman (Hubbard Construction Company Inc.), president of Mid Florida U&TCA; Ken Bare (JMHC Inc.), board member of Mid Florida U&TCA; and R. Bruce Kershner, Mid Florida U&TCA executive director, met with Carol Kane, founder/executive director of The Mustard Seed, to deliver the toys in time for Christmas. Kane was overwhelmed with the generosity of the organization and told the representatives she looks forward each year to its participation. The Mustard Seed recently moved into its new facility in Eatonville. Many members of Mid Florida U&TCA helped in building the new facility by donating materials and construction services.
The Mustard Seed of Central Florida, a non-profit organization formed in 1985, aids families that are homeless by furnishing their homes with donated items. The organization also provides clothing and toys to people who have lost everything they own as a result of fire, hurricane, tornadoes, domestic violence or joblessness.
The Mid Florida Utilities & Transportation Contractors Association, based in Longwood, FL, consists of local underground utility and transportation contractors and suppliers throughout Central Florida.
