NPK Construction Equipment Inc. has introduced four new PH Series hydraulic hammer models, replacing the company’s GH-1 through GH-4 model hammers. According to company President Dan Tyrrell, the PH Series hammers signify a new generation of hammers employing the latest technologies in design, engineering and manufacturing to address applications in the growing mini and compact equipment market.

The new hammers incorporate the demand for high quality, hardworking and durable equipment with price sensitivity concerns in the size range with a design that effectively meets all criteria. The new PH Series continues to employ features such as sleeves covering and protecting the units’ working parts while streamlining and simplifying the entire hammer system.

These new one piece body hammers eliminate the need for long tie bolts and are equipped with an anti-blank firing feature providing longer component life. In addition, NPK’s PH Series is available with an optional fully enclosed “Enivro-Bracket,” providing reduced noise levels.

Other features include a slip fit tool bushing and a larger diameter retaining pin for ease of maintenance and longer service life. With more than 45 percent fewer total parts than previous models, the PH Series still incorporates its popular nitrogen gas powered piston.

The PH-1 comes in with 350 ft. lbs. impact energy, weighs 423 lbs. (192 kg) and will fit a 2 to 3.5 ton (1.8 to 3.2 t) carrier. The PH-2 produces 500 ft. lbs., weighs 487 lbs. (221 kg) and fits a carrier in the 3 to 5.5 ton class (2.7 to 5 t). The PH-3 will output 750 ft. lbs., weighs 825 lbs. (374 kg), and fits a 4 to 8 ton (3.6 to 7.2 t) carrier while the PH-4 is in the 1,300 ft. lb. impact energy class, weighs 1,064 lbs. (482 kg) and is best matched to a carrier in the 6 to 9 ton (5.4 to 8 t) weight class.

The NPK Construction Equipment PH Series hydraulic hammers are fully assembled at the company’s Ohio facility, which is where all brackets and fabrications are performed as well. Tyrrell explained that this arrangement provides the company with outstanding capabilities where customization may be required to meet specific customer needs.

Timed to coincide with the launch of the new PH Series hydraulic hammers, NPK also plans to offer 0 percent financing for 24 months through the end of the year.

NPK maintains an extensive network of nearly 300 distributor outlets, a comprehensive field service corp and an extensive parts distribution network to assure more equipment uptime with NPK hammers as well as compactors/drivers, crushers, material processors and pedestal boom systems.
