NPK Construction Equipment Inc. now has four new PH Series hydraulic hammer models that will replace its GH-1 through GH-4 model hammers.

These new one piece body hammers are equipped with an anti-blank firing feature providing longer component life. In addition, NPK's PH Series is available with an optional fully enclosed "Enviro-Bracket," providing reduced noise levels. Other features include a field replaceable tool bushing and a larger diameter retaining pin for ease of maintenance and longer service life.

With more than 45 percent fewer total parts than previous models the PH Series still incorporates the popular nitrogen gas powered piston for the hardest hitting hammers in their class, according to the manufacturer.

The PH-1 comes in with 350 ft. lbs. impact energy, weighs 423 lbs. (192 kg) and will fit a 2 to 3.5 ton (1.8 to 3 t) carrier. The PH-2 produces 500 ft. lbs., weighs 487 lbs. (221 kg) and fits a carrier in the 3 to 5.5 ton (2.7 to 5 t) class. The PH-3 will output 750 ft. lbs., weighs 825 lbs. (374 kg), and fits a 4 to 8 ton (3.6 to 7.2 t) carrier while the PH-4 is in the 1,300 ft. lb. impact energy class, weighs 1,064 lbs. (482 kg) and is best matched to a carrier in the 6 to 9 ton (5.4 to 8 t) weight class.

NPK maintains an extensive network of nearly 300 distributor outlets and an extensive parts distribution network to assure more equipment uptime with NPK hammers as well as compactors/drivers, crushers, material processors and pedestal boom systems.
