The new Powerscreen Phoenix 2100 trommel provides high production capacity with low maintenance, sets up in approximately five minutes, and is engineered for long service life in recycling, topsoil, wood chippings and compost applications, according to the manufacturer.
The drum measures 21 ft. 2 in. by 6 ft. 4 in. (6.4 by 1.9 m) diameter and consists of four panels with five meshes per panel, featuring Powerscreen’s quick-change mesh system.
The four-wheel friction drive eliminates wear associated with conventional drives and facilitates quick removal and changing of the trommel drum, typically in approximately 10 minutes.
The variable-speed drum is fully adjustable to 24 rpm, and reversible to “rock” the barrel.
Screening area is 345.6 sq. ft. (32.1 sq m) with an angle adjustable from 4 to 7 degrees. Hopper capacity is 8.5 cu. yd. (6.5 cu m).
The direct-drive feed conveyor is 42 in. (107 cm) wide, has variable speed control, and is reversible to clear blockages. Hydraulic kick-out system prevents barrel stalling.
The collection conveyor is 48 in. (123 cm) wide; the radial and oversize conveyors are 36 in. (91.4 cm) wide, are angle adjustable and fold hydraulically. Maximum stockpile heights are 19 ft. 5 in. (5.9 m) radial and 11 ft. 2 in. (3.4 m) oversize.
Radial and oversize conveyors are angle adjustable.
Power is supplied by a 174-hp Cat. David Brown flywheel and PTO pumps, Danfoss conveyor motors and White Hydraulics trommel drum motors also are included.
Options include triple axle, tipping grid, single- or double-deck vibrating grid and punch plate screens.
