Powerscreen Horizon 5163 Scalping/Screening Plant Handles High Spec Products

Construction Equipment Guide

The new, highly mobile Powerscreen Horizon 5163 precision scalping and screening plant is designed to handle materials up to 10 in. (25 cm) and can produce up to 600 tons (544 t) per hour of high specification products (such as for concrete and road building/paving) with materials such as natural and crushed aggregates, crushed and recycled concrete and asphalt, coal and iron ore. It also works well in closed-circuit primary, secondary and tertiary crushing setups to achieve high tonnages of fine-sized product meeting strict specifications. The 5163 is essentially a smaller, more economical version of the 800-tph (726 t) Horizon 6203, according to the manufacturer.

The triple-shaft mechanism creates a highly aggressive screen action and can be adjusted to give a range of amplitudes and G-forces. The operator can easily change the rate of material flow over the screen — faster for higher tonnages or slower for increased screening action and cleaner end products with materials that are harder to separate.

The Horizon 5163 sets up in as little as 30 minutes with its user-friendly feeder and screen system and four integral, hydraulically folding stockpile conveyors. Wide walkways give easy access to screen sides for ease of maintenance and screen mesh change.
