In an effort to assist its customers in meeting the demands of a growing recycling market, while addressing ongoing changes in EPA standards, Powerscreen Indiana Inc. has announced a major expansion in the product lines it represents.

According to Powerscreen Indiana’s Joe Peters, the company will carry the full line of wheeled and tracked Fuchs material handlers along with a variety of material handling attachments. The company will provide sales, service and parts throughout the Midwest.

Strong and lasting customer relationships built over years of doing business positioned the company to gain a keen understanding of its client’s operations and subsequent equipment needs, according to the company.

While focused on the crushing and screening equipment needs of its customers, it also encountered situations in which ancillary equipment would benefit a given operation. Guided by these insights the company sought out and selected several new equipment lines to complement its product offerings. Many of the new equipment lines added were from companies that, while underrepresented in the United States, have been operating successfully in Europe for years.

In addition to increasing the solution-based equipment to serve its existing clients, the additional lines also open up new territories and markets for the company. Along with its primary aggregates, recycling and construction markets, the company will also serve barge and ship loading and unloading.

Powerscreen Indiana has taken on the Terex Fuchs material handling line, Terex Environmental Equipment, which includes trommels, grinders and tree chippers.

The company also is offering the Telestack mobile conveyor line, designed for bulk material handling. A key benefit to Telestack telescoping conveyors is that they’re equipped with a series of sensors designed to help maintain a consistent distance of the discharge to the top of the product pile. This arrangement not only allows the stockpiling of more materials, it also minimizes product segregation caused when materials of different sizes land on the pile and larger materials migrate to the bottom, according to the manufacturer.

In addition, Powerscreen Indiana also is a dealer for Terex Washing Systems capable of handling anything from a simple rinse to contaminant screening. Within this category, Terex Washing Systems also offers the new Powerscreen Aggwash, an all in one portable unit that combines rinsing, screening, scrubbing and sand washing capabilities.

The company also represents Matec water filtration and filter presses. The system is capable of retaining 97 percent of the water used in a process with 0 percent particulate matter. The filtered particulate is processed into cakes with less than 10 percent moisture which lends itself to reuse. Primary applications are in aggregate and sand washing but the system can be used anywhere that water is used to clean or cool materials such as steel mills.

In addition to traditional aggregate concrete and asphalt processing, Powerscreen Indiana has also added applications in scrap metal and trash sorting with its line of screen plants.

Powerscreen Indiana also has carries the Kiverco Recycling Systems line which includes product processing equipment, primarily for use by municipalities and landfills in picking and sorting stations.

As with the line of Terex Crushing & Screening equipment that it has sold and serviced for years, Powerscreen Indiana is cognizant of the need to not only sell the best equipment, but to back that equipment with a strong commitment to service and product support, said the company.

To meet that demand, the company’s main facility has four service bays for servicing machines and two service bays for stocking parts. The company also has four service trucks. As well as the right tools and resources at its disposal, company technicians receive full training and are currently training to gain full certification for all of the company’s product lines.

The addition of these new product lines, in combination with its core Powerscreen equipment line, offers the company new opportunities to build on existing relationships while expanding its customer base, according to Powerscreen President Gordon Anderson, who added he views his customers as business partners.

Located in Angola, Ind., Powerscreen Indiana Inc. has been serving Indiana’s crushing and screening equipment needs since 1985. In 2010, the company moved to its current 20,000 sq. ft. facility situated on 8 acres of land fronting Interstate 69.
