The new, high-capacity Powerscreen Orion 1400 trommel typically sets up in 15 minutes and provides high mobility with low ground pressure crawler tracks.
Wheeled undercarriage also is available. Applications include topsoil, recycling, wood chips and compost.
Hopper length is more than 12 ft. (3.7 m); capacity is 5.65 cu. yds. (4.3 cu m).
The 14- by 5-ft. (4.3 by 1.5 m) drum has 169.4 sq. ft. (15.7 sq m) screening area and variable speed control to 24.5 rpm.
Friction four-wheel drum drive system includes reversible operation to “rock” the barrel. Hydraulically folding trommel door provides quick drum removal.
Screen angle is adjustable from flat to four degrees and has standard removable pendant remote control system or optional radio control. Drum motor is White Hydraulics DT540.
The reversible, direct-drive, 36-in. (91 cm) feed conveyor has hydraulic “kick-out” to prevent barrel stalling. Other conveyors include 48-in. (122 cm) collection, 32-in. (81.2 cm) oversize, 28-in. (71.1 cm) transfer and 32-in fines.
The unit is powered by a Caterpillar 3054C DINA or DIT. Other power is provided by Danfoss motors and David Brown pumps.
