Quick Fuel Fleet Services acquired the mobile refueling business of Nortrax Equipment Co. in Florida. Nortrax is John Deere’s largest dealership group, with 56 locations in 15 states. The dealership serves the construction and forestry industries.

This marks the latest in a series of acquisitions that have positioned Quick Fuel Fleet Services as a leading mobile refueling company in the nation. Quick Fuel serves trucking fleets, construction firms and other businesses throughout the South and Midwest.

Ten former Nortrax employees joined Quick Fuel, which also acquired trucks and other equipment. The purchase expands the company’s operations in Tampa and West Palm Beach, FL.

For on-site refueling, drivers fuel trucks and equipment at a terminal or job site during vehicle down times. The service allows businesses to concentrate on their core business rather than spending time fueling.

Both Quick Fuel and Nortrax have spent the last several months dedicating most of their resources to fueling Florida businesses that have been ravaged by recent hurricanes.

Reliability is key to mobile refueling, said Chuck Jacobus, president of Quick Fuel, which is a subsidiary of Jacobus Energy in Milwaukee, WI. Jacobus has earned a reputation for providing on-time, reliable deliveries. Drivers use hand-held devices to scan bar codes on the customer’s equipment. The data is then fed to an on-board computer system, helping to eliminate human error and ensure safe, accurate deliveries.

Jacobus was founded in 1919, and Quick Fuel has been providing has been providing commercial fueling services since the late 1980s.
