The latest addition from Rammer is the G 130 City, the largest hammer offered. It is designed for use on 58,967- to 99,790-kilogram (130,000 to 220,000 lb.) hydraulic excavators for primary breaking, tunneling, concrete breaking and other heavy duty work. The hammer working weight is 6,577 kilograms (14,500 lb.) and it falls in the 6,804-kilogram (15,000 lb.) impact energy class.
The G 130 City provides users a number of features to enhance operation, productivity and reliability. A thicker tool is used on the G 130 than on smaller hammers in the G series line. The City denotes sound suppression. This low sound level is remarkable for a hammer this size and is actually lower than many smaller hammers not equipped with a silenced package. The housing also is dust proof with a dust tight tool retaining pin locking system.
Optimized hydraulics and a long piston design provide maximum breaking power on all blows. A membrane accumulator provides continuous performance in both vertical and horizontal applications and protects the carrier from hydraulic pulsation. All G series hammers feature special plastic wear plates which reduce both noise and vibration to the carrier. These plates are easily inspected and replaced as necessary, and the G 130 City also features additional plates and other design features making it especially suited for horizontal position work such as in tunneling. This application also often utilizes the Rammer City Jet dust suppression system which uses nozzles inside the hammer casing to disperse small water droplets at a high speed for maximum dust binding and minimal water usage. The G 130 City is pre-piped for this system. Internal air channels for underwater applications are standard as well as internal channels for automatic lubrication.
Internal components are designed for heavy-duty production and easy maintenance. A robust thrust ring dissipates shock loads and features a slip fit design for easy replacement. The upper tool bushing protects the front end against wear and is a slip fit for easy replacement. The lower tool bushing with dust seals is a slip fit, field replaceable design and can be rotated 90 degrees for increased service life. All hoses are top mounted to minimize hose breakage and eliminate leak points.
