Ransome Rents threw open the doors of its new branch in Limerick, PA, welcoming customers and area residents at a recent grand opening party.

Guests at the grand opening were able to meet Andy Houston, driver of the No. 60 Caterpillar NASCAR truck. Houston signed autographs and posed for photos with customers. Giles & Ransome’s own technical trainer, Tim DiIorio, also was on hand with his weekend toy — the Ransome dragster.

The celebration included a live performance from local band Jaded Angel and entertainment from WXTU DJs, as well as a barbecue dinner.

Branch Manager Tom Hahn said the grand opening was a huge success, introducing Ransome Rents to community residents while drawing in new and old customers.

“Business is going great at the Limerick store,” Hahn said. “Quite a few of our open house guests have ended up renting from us … Quite a few of our rentals have been to new, local customers, but many of our long-time customers are renting from us when they’re working in this area, too.”

According to Giles & Ransome Vice President Ken Bryant, the activity at the Limerick Ransome Rents store has been much stronger than the company saw at its second and third locations in Atlantic City, NJ, and Wilmington, DE.

“Things are really off to a good start in Limerick,” Bryant said. “Contractors and businesses in the area have received the store very well. We’ve had a lot of interests and a lot of visits.”

Bryant said he believes the company’s timing was very good in opening the Limerick branch due to the “booming growth” of the area. He also attributes the success of the location to its two very experienced local salesmen.

Ransome Rents’ Limerick branch features Caterpillar equipment, as well as aerial equipment, air compressors and air tools, paving and compaction equipment, concrete and masonry equipment, electrical equipment, material handling equipment and pumping equipment.

In addition to the four current Ransome Rents locations in Wilmington, DE, Atlantic City, NJ, and Limerick and Allentown, PA, the company is planning to open another store along the I-95 corridor in Philadelphia in the next year.

Giles & Ransome Inc., headquartered in Bensalem, PA, is the authorized distributor for Caterpillar in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Northern Delaware. Through its Giles & Ransome, Ransome Engine, Ransome Rents and Ransome Lift divisions, the company distributes Cat and allied construction equipment, engines and lift trucks respectively.
