Anderson Equipment customers now have additional branches in the New England area to serve their needs.
According to Bill Gex, CEO of Anderson Equipment Company, the primary shareholder of R.C. Hazelton had a desire to sell his ownership position so he could concentrate on his other business endeavors. Anderson saw this as an opportunity to grow and expand.
“Anderson was interested in growing. Equipment distribution is a very competitive industry and it has become increasingly difficult to improve customer service without significant investments in facilities, inventory, systems, people and training. Anderson desired to acquire more volume to cover these growing costs,” Gex said.
“Anderson’s goal is to be able to provide the benefits of a big company while maintaining the attributes of a family run business. Anderson will be able to provide a myriad of benefits that only larger companies can provide. However, customers will continue to benefit from a management team that thoroughly understands the unique needs of its customers,” Gex said.
The benefits will include:
• Investments in new service trucks and facilities
• Increased training of employees
• Access to a large rental fleet
• Increased availability of new equipment and attachments
• Anderson’s extensive parts inventory, overnight access to Komatsu’s regional inventory
• Enhanced systems to foster faster responses to inquiries
Dan Hazelton will stay on to run Anderson’s operations in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
“Having Dan as part of the Anderson team was a very important consideration during the acquisition process. Dan’s industry knowledge and customer relationships will be very valuable going forward,” Gex said.
All R.C. Hazelton branches will remain open and will be re-branded Anderson Equipment Company.
The acquisition was closed on Nov. 13, 2009.
