A good selection of excavators went on the block during the Ritchie sale in North East, Md.

Tim Brown (L), owner, and his son, TJ Brown, manager, both of Valley Lawn Care of Conneautville, Pa., are looking for some deals.

Shannon Slacum (L), owner of Slacum Landscaping in Cambridge, Md., is with Dick Rawlings, who is helping him find a grinder. Rawlings owned his own Cat dealership in Russia, but sold it years ago.

A tent was set up for timed auction lots at the North East, Md., facility.

More than 50 Mack tri-axle dump trucks went down the ramp at the recent Ritchie Bros. auction sale held at its North East, Md., facility.

Looking over the sale catalogue is Mike Enos of Durable Undercarriage, South Plainfield, N.J.

Several Caterpillar D5 crawler tractors were auctioned off; prices ranged from $20,000 to $35,000.

Patrick Norton of G. T. Booth Excavating Contractors, Leichester, N.Y., checks out a Komatsu dozer.

Adam Clark, vice president, Clark Equipment Rental & Sales, made the trip from Syracuse, N.Y., to attend the auction.

Hundreds of bidders were in attendance at the North East, Md., site.

Bill Major, owner of Suffolk Recycling of New Jersey, may be interested in the Maximus 516 vibrating screener. Rubble Master recently acquired Northern Ireland-based Maximus.

This Link-Belt long reach excavator caught the eye of many bidders as they tested it out before placing bids.

More than 4,300 bidders participated online and in person at Ritchie Bros.' multi-million-dollar unreserved public equipment auction in North East, Md., on March 27, 2018.

With bidders from 54 countries, approximately 83 percent of the equipment in the auction was sold to out-of-state buyers, from as far away as Spain, China and the United Arab Emirates. Online bidders purchased approximately 52 percent of the equipment sold (by dollar value).

More than 2,950 equipment items and trucks were sold in the auction, including 105 excavators, 100-plus compactors, more than 50 loaders, 35-plus dozers, more than 35 skid steers, 140 boom and scissor lifts, 155 truck tractors, and more than 155 trailers.
