The Komatsu WA500 wheel loader caught the eye of Paul Wynn (L) and Steven Wood of Albuquerque Metal Recycling.

(L-R): James Sena, Natasha Sena and Paul Pacheco of Jim Sena Construction in Santa Rosa, N.M., were in the market for an excavator.

WW Logging’s Daniel (L) and Russell Weaver were on hand to bid on a Cat 140G motorgrader.

Rancher Harry Lee came in from San Mateo, N.M., to buy a dozer. He was very interested in this Cat D8H.

Among the many bidders on this Case compact excavator was Ray Seagers (R) of Seagers Construction in Edgewood, N.M. Pictured with Ray is his mom, Kay Davis.

Michael Andrews (L) of All Fired Up Inc., was bidding on the Case excavator. Alongside Michael is long-time friend, Ken Hughes of Hughes Plumbing in Albuquerque.

The Vermeer VC600 chipper was on the shopping list of Wilbur (L) and Urban Martinez of Z-4 Enterprises of Alcade, N.M.

More than 1,650 bidders participated online and in person at Ritchie Bros.' multi-million-dollar unreserved public equipment auction in Albuquerque, N.M., on March 29, 2017.

With bidders from 37 countries, approximately 69 percent of the equipment in the auction was sold to out-of-state buyers, from as far away as China and Thailand. Online bidders purchased approximately 61 percent of the equipment sold (by dollar value).

More than 800 equipment items and trucks were sold in the auction, including excavators, compactors, skid steers, loaders, dozers, aerial work platforms, truck tractors, trailers and more.—CEG
