The Nov. 14 Ritchie Bros. auction featured 20 acres of machines and equipment up for bid.

Russell Ferrell (L) and Josh Sasfai of RJ Brown River Towing came to the auction looking for deals on equipment.

Andy Miller (L) of Alex E. Paris Contracting was joined by brother-in-law Jeff Froats to take in the auction activities.

Ritchie Bros.’ Fred Vilsmeier keeps the bidding moving along at a rapid pace.

Jason Papp of Aster Hardwood was pleased to have purchased this 2004 International bucket truck.

John Stamm (L) and Doug Thomas of Thomas Construction made some purchases at the auction.

Dave Tomasic (L) of Dave Tomasic Equipment was joined by Joe Dee of Phoenix Equipment to look at the skid loaders at the sale.

Bidding was brisk under the big top during the Ritchie Bros. Pittsburgh auction.

More than 1,850 bidders participated online and in person Nov. 14 at Ritchie Bros.' multi-million-dollar unreserved public equipment auction in Pittsburgh.

With bidders from 42 countries, approximately 70 percent of the equipment in the auction was sold to out-of-state buyers, from as far away as Honduras, Spain and Vietnam. Online bidders purchased approximately 60 percent of the equipment sold (by dollar value).

Close to 1,000 equipment items and trucks were sold in the auction, including more than 60 compactors, more than 25 excavators, 15 loaders, more than 10 dozers, more than 65 truck tractors, 60-plus trailers, and more.
