Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers celebrated the grand opening of its new United States head office location in Lincoln, Neb., May 12.
Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler cut the grand opening ribbon to officially open the new office.
“Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers has grown steadily over the last 50 years, conducting unreserved auctions around the world,” said Peter Blake, chief executive officer of Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. “In the time we have had our U.S. head office in Lincoln, we’ve found it to be an excellent place to do business. As our company has grown, our staff in Lincoln has also grown, necessitating a larger facility.”
Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers started its operations in Canada in 1958 and conducted the company’s first U.S. auction in Beaverton, Ore., on April 11, 1970. In 1999, Ritchie Bros. chose Lincoln as the location for the company’s U.S. head office, and has nearly doubled the size of its staff in the last two years to approximately 70 employees. The new building on Pine Lake Road is nearly five times larger than the original 12,000 sq. ft. building.
