On Sept. 9, Road Machinery & Supplies Co. (RMS) announced the purchase of 14 acres of property in Bondurant, Iowa. The company will construct a new state-of-the art parts, sales, service and rental operations facility that will serve the Des Moines area and much of Central Iowa.

The company will move from its much smaller existing facility on Sheridan Road and all 35 employees will be transferred to the new location. Joe Schmidtlein, RMS vice president of Iowa operations, will oversee the project.

Company executives believe the Des Moines area is poised for significant growth in the coming years and this new facility will enable them to support that development.

"We are excited about this expansion which will allow us to better service our customers in Des Moines and surrounding areas," said RMS CEO Mike Sill II, grandson of the company's founder.

Company President Russell Sheaffer added, "This new building will provide the infrastructure necessary to achieve our business objectives while offering new and exciting opportunities for existing and future RMS employees."
