Mason C. Rudd, founder of Rudd Equipment Co. in Louisville, Ky., died July 5. He was 90.

Rudd opened the company in 1952 as a distributor of construction and mining equipment representing Volvo, Hitachi, Terex Fuchs, Driltech, Kent, Link-Belt and Tamrock.

Rudd also was a World War II Army veteran and a member of The Temple.

He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Davidson Rudd. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Mudd Rudd; son, Michael Davidson Rudd (Patricia), of Napa, Calif.; daughter, Betsy Rudd Bennett (Bruce Hart); grandchildren, Mason Lewis Miller (Stacy), of Lexington, Ky., Marianne Elizabeth Nellis (Nahalel), of Israel, Nathan Michael Rudd (Kim), of Minneapolis, Minn., Stephanie Elizabeth Rudd, of Minneapolis, Minn., Kathryn Michal Rudd, of Austin, Texas, Olivia Davidson Rudd, of Napa, Calif.; Charles Cosmo Rudd, of Napa, Calif.; great-grandson, Judah Samuel Nellis, of Israel; and Peggy’s children, Timothy Mudd (Lynn), of Los Angeles, Calif., Sean Mudd (Julie), Shannon Hall (Larry), of Lexington, Ky.; and eight grandchildren.
