SANY America will invest approximately $25 million to build a new research and development center alongside its corporate headquarters in Peachtree City, Ga. Plans for the new facility, which will create 300 jobs, were announced as Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal visited the main offices of SANY Group in Changsha, China.

“The new R&D center will help SANY’s internationalization initiatives and strengthen SANY’s competitiveness in the global market,” said Jack Tang, president of SANY America. “Over the past two years, we have intensely recruited R&D talent for our North American manufacturing facility, and we will very aggressively continue those efforts to staff the new research center.”

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal recently traveled to China to attract further capital investments to the southern state. SANY’s announcement to build the new R&D center comes as the company continues to localize its workforce and product development.

“This expansion stems not only from the success SANY already enjoys in Georgia, but from the relationship that has developed between SANY and our state as well,” said Deal. “The talent from our academic institutions ensures that SANY will have a deep supply of the skilled workers needed to stay at the forefront of innovation.”

In February, SANY welcomed Deal to celebrate completion of Phase One of construction at the company’s 400,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Peachtree City, Ga. To date, SANY has invested $60 million in the site, which will assemble crawler and rough terrain cranes, excavators and concrete pump trucks.
