In January, Lafayette, La., -based United Vision Logistics joined a growing number of companies switching to SANY’s high-end line of global crawler cranes. Since that time, the company’s 110-ton (100 t) SCC8100 has logged more than 400 hours relocating oil rigs and proving its reliability in remote parts of North Dakota.
“Our new SANY crawler crane is truly a first-class machine,” said Mike Rusek, category manager of rig moving at United Vision Logistics. “The power delivery is smooth, and even when the temperature dropped to negative 40 this winter, the SCC8100 never left us stranded.”
In North Dakota oil country, soft ground conditions can create a hazardous environment for heavy equipment. In one instance, Rusek explained, United Vision Logistics’ SANY crane entered a soft spot while carrying a load and sank down more than half a track depth. The machine’s power-to-weight ratio allowed it to pull through quickly.
In addition to offering a standard two-year parts and service warranty, SANY’s global cranes feature trusted components such as Rexroth pumps and Cummins engines.
“The people at SANY America have gone out of their way to work with us, and that’s what makes me want to do business with them” Rusek said. “Their dealer Four Seasons Equipment out of Houston, Texas, even opened an office near us in North Dakota.”
SANY America markets, rough terrain cranes, crawler cranes, excavators, and port machinery in North America. Last fall, SANY announced it will build a $25 million R&D center alongside its 400,000 sq. ft. manufacturing headquarters in Peachtree City, Ga. When complete, the site will employ 300 hydraulic and mechanical engineers.
