The Garden State Bobcat Family of Dealerships has announced the promotion of Michael P. Schlessinger to the position of vice president of sales and rentals.

Schlessinger started with the company September 2001 as its sales manager. He now directs a team of eight field salespeople with the inside support of six sales and rental coordinators. His goal is to pursue market leadership in compact equipment in all the territories covered by the dealerships.

A native of East Windsor, NJ, Schlessinger began his career with rental and sales distributors in New Jersey after graduating from college.

He migrated west to St. Louis, MO, where he became an account manager of MJ Struckel Corp., a construction supply company. Later, he became general manager of United Rentals of St. Louis.

Schlessinger joined Tavant Technologies in Sunnyvale, CA, as senior manager of business development. He played a vital role in developing technologies that help dealerships and manufacturers strengthen their relationships in an online environment.

The Garden State Family has four full-service facilities located throughout the central and southern New Jersey and Staten Island, NY.
