Scott Smith was recently appointed president and chief operating officer of Precision Husky Corp., based in Leeds, AL. It is a position previously held by his father, company owner Bob Smith, who will remain chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

Scott has been with the company for more than 18 years and essentially grew up in the business. He started at Precision Husky Corp. in various capacities while in high school. In his ascension to his current position, he worked in various departments learning all aspects of the business, all the while being mentored by his father.

“It’s been a blessing from God to have such a great working relationship with my dad, who raised me in this company for a reason,” said Scott. “I couldn’t ask for a better working environment. He’s made some great business decisions over the years, and I look forward, with his help to continuing to grow the company he has built.”

Scott said his first initiative as president is to look toward expansion of the company’s current dealer network.

Precision Husky manufactures high quality timber recycling, harvesting and loading machines as well as sawmill equipment.
