Sims Crane & Equipment has been recognized as one of the top 45 companies out of thousands of companies considered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (CCO) and has received the new Employer Award from the CCO for its strong commitment to safety.

The new Employer Award honors companies that go above and beyond in their dedication to safety by certifying their employees through the CCO certification programs. Sims Crane & Equipment earned its place among an elite group of companies that prioritize excellence in hiring, training and on-the-job safety.

"Sims Crane & Equipment takes the time and energy to get their personnel CCO certified to the highest certification standard, thereby raising the safety awareness of the entire company," said Thom Sicklesteel, CEO of CCO.

The CCO Employer Award program allows companies to demonstrate to clients and employees that safety is a core value, and that their workforce is equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform safely and effectively.

"CCO's Employer Awards provide a means for safety-conscious employers such as Sims Crane & Equipment to show their clients, potential clients and employees that they are serious about safety and that they have taken proactive steps to ensure that their employees have the knowledge and skills to perform their assigned job duties safely," said Tara Whittington, marketing director of CCO. "CCO is delighted to welcome Sims Crane & Equipment into this preeminent group of companies who have distinguished themselves in their dedication to safety through their commitment to CCO certification."

Deborah Weber, CEO of Sims Crane & Equipment, said the recognition reflects the company's long-standing focus on safety and professional development.

"At Sims, safety is more than a requirement — it is truly part of our culture," Weber said. "We invest in our people because we believe that the best equipment in the world means nothing without highly trained professionals operating it. This award is a proud moment for our entire team."

To qualify for the Employer Award, Sims Crane & Equipment was among the top 45 companies nationwide based on the volume of candidates tested, as indicated on exam applications submitted to CCO.
