Construction Equipment Guide

On March 8 and 9, 2005, the Philadelphia Construction Expo will return to the Fort Washington Expo Center in Fort Washington, PA.

The sixth annual expo, also called “The Greatest Show in Construction, Public Works & Landscaping,” will again feature a wide array of equipment dealers and manufacturers, including: Eagle Power & Equipment, Giles & Ransome, Midlantic, Norris Sales, Eager Beaver, Earthborne, Ingersoll-Rand, Delaware Valley Bobcat, Total Rentals, United Rentals, Sunbelt Rentals, Vermeer, Ritchie Bros., King of Prussia Equipment, Curry Supply, Historical Construction Equipment Association, National Kids Construction Club, Godwin Pumps, Norki Energy Systems and first-time exhibitors Power Curbers Inc., Speedy Scan Company Inc., Diamond Blade Warehouse and Conklin Company.

And, of course, this show, as others have in the past, will feature a backhoe rodeo with a total of $5,000 up for grabs.

New for next year’s show will be a significantly expanded exhibit in the Washington Room, an area adjacent to the main exhibit hall, by Asphalt Care Equipment, of Bensalem and Doylestown, PA.

David Fackler, president of Asphalt Care was excited to explain his company’s new role at the Philadelphia Construction Expo.

“For the past four years, we’ve hosted our own paving expo. This year, we’re excited to announce that we are combining our show and Construction Equipment Guide’s (CEG) show, to create a strong presence for the pavement maintenance industry and for pavement maintenance contractors,” he said.

“We are going to have our own showroom, in which we’ll have our own exhibitors, such as Ingersoll-Rand, Marathon, Billy Goat, Multiquip, Yanmar and more.

“We’ll also be holding classes highlighting proper paving techniques, such as striping, asphalt seal coating, and parking lot and road paving, which will be taught by leading representatives in the field, from all major manufacturers and associations.

“Tickets for these classes will go on sales prior to the expo. And, even more, we’ll be offering special show pricing on all of our products that we’ll have on display at the show,” he explained.

Fackler said, above all else, that he looks forward to a long-term relationship with Construction Equipment Guide in which both shows will grow by offering more and more services and manufacturers and classes to “really bring this industry up to a well educated, well defined group.”

Asphalt Care Equipment has been in business for 25 years. The company opened its Doylestown branch in 2002 and according to Fackler, who prior to founding his company worked as paving contractor for 20 years, he has plans for expansion in the near future.

The company has earned Ingersoll-Rand’s No. 1 dealer in America award in 2003 for its line of equipment, which includes asphalt pavers and compaction rollers and more.
