Southeastern Equipment Company held an open house on Jan. 20 at the company’s headquarters in Cambridge, Ohio, to introduce the new Case N Series loader backhoes to its customers.
The product line launched by Case in the Fall of 2010 includes 580N, 580 Super N, 580 Super N Wide Track and 590 Super N loader/backhoes. With the snow flying outside, Southeastern Equipment Company’s guests were able to learn about the new machines indoors at the Cambridge training facility. Several N Series backhoes were on display and a presentation was given in a classroom environment where Case Product Specialist Mike Kaufmann and Case Product Support Manager John Coe provided technical insights.
Outside the training facility, those in attendance were given a demonstration on the lifting capabilities of the new 590 Super N Backhoe Loader and were shown the machine’s Power Lift function that directs hydraulic power directly to the boom. According to Southeastern Equipment’s Jon Wickline, this new feature generates lift capabilities comparable to an 8-ton excavator. Additionally, a new fabricated boom design increases strength while maintaining the over-center design.
The new Case N Series machines all feature 4.5-L, turbocharged engines, ranging from 79 hp (59 kW) in the 580N to 108 hp (80.5 kW) in the 590SN. The lineup also offers a variety of innovative new transmission options and introduces SmartClutch, a feature that lets operators customize the transition from forward to reverse to address the unique demands of specific applications.
A full range of attachments, including hydraulic hammers, brooms, forks, augers and rakes are available for the N Series backhoes and the machines offer cab-activated hydraulic backhoe quick-coupler, hand-held hydraulics and loader quick-coupler options.
