Things are looking up for contractors who need to raise workers, supplies or equipment because Northeast Cat dealer Southworth-Milton Inc. has added Genie lifts to its above-ground equipment lineup.

Southworth-Milton initially will carry Genie self-propelled telescopic stick booms, along with articulated boom lifts, as a complement to its line of Caterpillar telescopic handlers. The company also will provide Genie scissor lifts for shorter-term rental through its Rental Alliance network.

The addition of Genie lifts will extend Southworth-Milton’s ability to serve the needs of a diverse and growing customer base, enabling “one-stop shopping” across a broader range of products, according to Marketing Director Larry Cutliffe.

With Southworth-Milton, Genie buyers will find access to local inventory; factory-direct pricing; flexible purchase, lease, rental and rent-to-own acquisition options; and well-trained, knowledgeable sales and support staff, according to the company.

“The Genie line is an ideal match to Southworth-Milton’s other product lines,” Cutliffe said. “We expect to serve Genie owners with the same level of reliable expertise that our Cat customers have come to expect.”

Headquartered in Redmond, WA, Genie Industries has specialized in above-ground mobility since the introduction of its Genie Hoist in 1966. The manufacturer currently serves customers in more than 70 countries around the world, in fields from construction and maintenance to materials handling and entertainment.

Southworth-Milton, in business since 1940, is a dealer of Caterpillar equipment in the Northeast. The company serves the construction, materials handling, forestry and other industries through nine facilities in the states of Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont and eastern New York, and maintains an active global presence in the used equipment market.
