Denver Weinstiger, president of Stafford Tractor Co. in Lawrenceville, GA, recently added five new members to his staff.
“Hiring each of these new staff members was a team effort and we were very deliberate and methodic about the caliber of the people we were bringing to the company,” Weinstiger said. “We took the time to seek out well respected top notch employees that work hard and are team players.”
Tom Reichling, the company’s service manager, hired Service Technicians Frank Mosley and Mike Hanlon, each of whom bring approximately 25 years of experience in heavy equipment service.
“These two technicians worked with Denver and I at Burch-Lowe. Both are perfectionists and when it comes to trouble-shooting, they just don’t give up. We’re finding that their old customers are already requesting the two for service issues. They blend well with the existing staff and it’s a complete team effort in the shop and in field service where everyone helps each other out any time it’s needed,” Reichling said.
Joining the sales staff as territory managers are Jim Rowlette and John “Johnny U” Urrutia. Rowlette has been in the equipment industry for more than 12 years, with the time split evenly between sales and management.
Rowlette’s career began with a major equipment rental operation. Prior to joining Stafford Tractor, he worked for the local Caterpillar dealer as a sales representative. His sales territory with Stafford includes the northwest Atlanta metro area as well as North Georgia.
“I’m excited to be a part of Stafford Tractor. Everyone in the organization is extremely knowledgeable with many years of experience. I’m looking forward to being a part of the success of this great team,” Rowlette said.
Urrutia brings more than 20 years of equipment experience to the Stafford sales staff. He spent the first couple of years of his career in the equipment parts industry in Charleston, SC, and later relocated to the Atlanta area selling machines for Owsley & Sons for 12 years. He was one of the founders and partners of Southway Crane & Rigging in Atlanta. Urrutia’s sales territory with Stafford is inside the Perimeter (I-285) as well as the Southside of Atlanta, the same territory he had when working at Owsley.
When asked about joining Stafford Tractor, Urrutia said, “this was a selection to come here. I researched the company as much as they researched me. I’ve been watching this company from its inception and have seen some of their growing pains. But the company is now in a high growth mode with recent acquisitions in North Carolina and Virginia. The commitment and stability is set in place and Denver has made great strides to make this a recognized company in a very highly competitive market and has made some great acquisitions of top notch people.”
Paul Amato comes to Stafford Tractor as the company’s new parts manager. His career began in the Navy for 11 years as a chief machinist mate where he specialized in repairing pumps, turbines and hydraulics. Upon completion of his military service, Amato worked for Ingersoll-Rand as a mechanic and later took a position with a construction company. He worked his way from service writer to service manager for the Metro Atlanta Bobcat dealer and worked in various capacities with Daewoo including parts engineering, fleet manager and assistant parts manager.
Amato said he’s seen all aspects of the equipment business and knows all the angles of what the customer needs and what his company expects of him. His unique and diversified background affords him the ability to make good decisions with a solid realization that his department works hand in hand with the service department.
“Stafford is a great company with lots of energy,” Amato said. “The overall attitude of everyone here is that they want to do their absolute best for the customer to keep them coming back. After all, they are the reason we’re here.”
Amato is also a bit of a celebrity. His Civil War re-enactment hobby has landed him in big screen movies such as “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Gods and Generals” and “Strike the Tent.”
