Steward-Amos Sweeper Co.'s mid-size mechanical broom street sweeper, the Starfire S-4, has been specifically crafted for the demanding needs of contract sweepers, contractors, and municipalities, as well as fixed site operations such as landfills and quarries.
Among it many features, the Starfire S-4 sweeper comes with a 4-cu.-yd. (3 cu m) hopper that dumps at variable heights from 16 to 122 in. (40.6 to 310 cm).
The dual gutter broom Starfire S-4 also offers a 9 ft. 6 in. wide sweeping path and a 200-gal. (757 L) water tank for dust suppression. A 100-gal. (378L) auxiliary water tank is among the many available options.
Mounted on a 19,500-lb. (8,845 kg) GVWR chassis, a key design criterion for the sweeper is that no CDL driver's license is required for operation of the Starfire S-4. The simplicity of the design combines rugged construction and ease of serviceability and maintenance, coupled with fuel efficiency and quiet operation.
"We're truly excited about the production of this new, mid-size sweeper," said Frank Chulick, president of Stewart-Amos.
"For our customers, some of the advantages of our sweeper are that as an intermediate size unit, it combines great maneuverability and mobility with high performance sweeping power."
The compact, four-wheel, dual engine Starfire S-4 is manufactured at Stewart-Amos Sweeper Company's Harrisburg, Pa., headquarters.
