Stowers Machinery Acquires Expanded Cat Mining Distribution Business

Stowers Machinery assumed responsibility for the sales, marketing and product support of the expanded Cat mining products, which includes Belt Systems for Surface Mines and Quarries, and Roof Bolters.

Stowers Machinery Corporation announced that it has acquired the expanded Cat Mining equipment distribution and support business for its territories from Caterpillar Global Mining LLC. Stowers Machinery is the authorized Cat dealer in East Tennessee.

“We are excited to expand our offerings to mining customers throughout the region, and to give them the superior product and quality support that is our standard,” said Wes Stowers, president and CEO of Stowers Machinery Corporation. “We have been working diligently to meet customers’ needs for this expanded product line, including investing in training and additional service tooling,”

Stowers Machinery assumed responsibility for the sales, marketing and product support of the expanded Cat mining products, which includes Belt Systems for Surface Mines and Quarries, and Roof Bolters.

They are looking for integrated solutions, high productivity, superior equipment availability and low operating cost,” said Steve Wunning, Caterpillar group president with responsibility of Resource Industries. “Stowers Machinery shares our goal to exceed customers’ expectations every day.”

Caterpillar has announced similar transactions with other dealers over the last several months. Caterpillar continues to hold discussions with other Cat dealers that have mining activity in their territories and will continue to operate the former Bucyrus distribution business until the transitions have occurred in a given territory.

Stowers Machinery Corporation has served the 38 counties of East Tennessee since 1960 with sales, parts and service for the entire Cat line. The company has its headquarters in East Knoxville and has full-service branches in West Knoxville, Chattanooga, Crossville, Sevierville and Kingsport.
