The 24th Annual NYS Highway and Public Works Expo was held Oct. 17 at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.

In addition to more than 110 exhibitors, guests checked out antique equipment that was brought to the show as part of the inaugural Antique Equipment Drive-In and enjoyed a barbecue lunch, which was sponsored by Stadium International Trucks, Tracey Road Equipment, Trux Outfitter and Vantage Equipment.

The Drive-In event featured a 1936 Bay City Twenty, which was used as a New York State machine, a 1970 Hendrickson truck, a 1970 Brockway N361 5x4 with a Cummins NTC290 engine, and a 1957 Caterpillar D4-7U is currently under restoration by John Schoeck of Canastota, N.Y. The inaugural vintage equipment event drew big, enthusiastic crowds throughout the Expo.

In addition to two grand prizes — grandstand tickets for the NASCAR Watkins Glen Race and tickets to the Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphin football game — door prizes of hats, shirts, gifts cards, electronics and more were awarded to lucky winners.

Next year's expo — the 25th annual — will be held at the newly constructed Fairgrounds Expo Center. (Read more about the new expo center at https://www.constructionequipmentguide.com/new-york-state-fairgrounds-to-gain-new-expo-center/40353)
