Superior Industries Inc., a manufacturer of conveyor systems and their related components, has a growing, line of conveyor belt scrapers.

Since launching its first primary belt cleaner at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2008, Superior’s line of Exterra belt cleaners has gained a reputation as one of the bulkiest conveyor belt scrapers in the marketplace. The blade design is manufactured with a thicker profile and beefier tip for more material at a scraper’s most crucial point of attack, according to the manufacturer.

Three years later, Superior engineers designed the Exterra SFL dual belt cleaner. This accessory is bulk material’s first and only combination primary and secondary cleaning system to share one common mounting pole. Moreover, for material producers short on time and maintenance staff, this system includes a tensioning system that does not require additional tensioning during the life of the scraper blade.

Most recently, the 40-year-old manufacturer added a line of replacement scraper blades to its product catalogs. This latest product line includes a primary blade only replacement for belt widths ranging from 12-in. (30.5 cm) to 72-in. (183 cm). In addition, a replacement mini-blade is available for applications with smaller diameter pulleys or tight clearance installations. Mini-blades are manufactured to accommodate belt widths up to 60-in. (152.4 cm). Common bulk material handling applications include construction aggregates, asphalt, biomass, cement, coal, frac sand, industrial minerals, power generation, ready mix concrete, recycling, scrap steel and wood.
