Terex Pegson 1412 Trakpactor Features Hydraulic Control

Tue July 10, 2007 - National Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

The Terex Pegson 1412 Trakpactor plant features a horizontal primary impact crusher with hydraulic controls for more uniform products, plus the latest PLC CAN BUS control system to automatically regulate the feed to the crusher, based on engine load. The plant is suitable for crushing concrete and asphalt rubble, brick and medium to hard limestone.

The impactor uses a hydraulic apron-locking mechanism with overload protection and automatic reset. This provides consistent product size with less oversize than conventional spring-loaded impact crushers, as well as additional protection against tramp metal. In addition the crusher opens and adjusts hydraulically and is fitted with a hydraulic tilting feed plate to improve blockage clearance, according to the manufacturer.

The crusher feed opening is 32 by 54 in. (81 by 137 cm). The rotor size is 48 in. (122 cm) diameter and 53 in. wide (134.6 cm) with four reversible Martensitic steel blow bars held with a simple clamping system. Ceramic blow bars are optional. Maximum feed size is 24 by 20 by 20 in. (61 by 51 by 51 cm) cube or 48 by 40 by 20 in. (122 by 101 by 51 cm) slab.

The standard hydraulic folding feed hopper has over-center struts and Wedge Lok system. The vibrating grizzly feeder with under screen is 54 in. wide by 14 ft. (137 cm by 4.3 m). Optional 13 ft. 6 in. wide (4.1 m) hopper for shovel feed from rear.

The engine is a Caterpillar C12 438 hp (326 kW) diesel with flat power curve at maximum power.

The modular 48 in. wide (122 cm) dual drive discharge conveyor raises and lowers hydraulically for maintenance and transport. There is ample clearance under the engine, and a ripstop product belt. The swivel type dirt conveyor is 2 ft. wide (.6 m); gives 7 ft. 10 in. high (2.4 m) stockpile and has a two-way dirt chute.
