Terex Construction Americas has announced Sargents Equipment and Repair Service as an authorized distributor of Terex Fuchs material handlers for central and northern Illinois, including the entire Chicago market area, and the eastern, southern and northern portions of Wisconsin. Sargents Equipment now provides its scrap, recycling, portside and logging customers with sales and after-the-sale support for the broad Terex Fuchs equipment line, purpose-built for efficient material handling.

“Sargents Equipment has built a solid reputation for providing strong service support for the equipment lines they represent,” said Terex Construction Americas Sales Director Martin Gonzalez. “Mike Sargent [president of Sargents Equipment] grew up in the scrap market and has a unique understanding of the critical role material handling equipment plays in the success of an operation.”

Regional sales manager of Terex Fuchs equipment Mike Myslicki added, “While Sargents Equipment is well known throughout the scrap, recycling and demolition markets, its approach to providing 24/7 customer service and support will be an asset for companies operating in the logging and portside markets as well.”

With operating weights from 41,888 to 147,710 lb. (19,000 to 67,000 kg), the reliable, quick and efficient Terex Fuchs material handler line features durable wheel- and track-driven undercarriage designs, powered by fuel-efficient turbocharged diesel engines. Alternatively, the models can be powered by zero exhaust emissions electric motors in either semi-mobile or stationary designs. Elevating cabs and intuitive controls boost operator productivity, while features such as rigid hydraulic pipes on the stick and double-row slewing ring increase machine durability and longevity. The recently introduced Terex Fuchs Telematics system for the machines provides critical operating data to help operations control costs, while increasing handler uptime.

“Sargents Equipment has grown from the service side of the business, and our owner, as well as key field personnel, has been involved in scrap-related businesses for years,” said Sargents Equipment’s Vice President of sales Don Davies.

“We understand the need for today’s processors to run more efficiently, since margins have gotten very tight. We have been looking for a rugged, reliable and purpose-built rubber tire material handler line to support our customers’ needs. Terex Fuchs has what we and our customers are looking for in a material handler, and the new Telematics system offered on Terex Fuchs machines allows us to be proactive from the service side to help improve our customers’ bottom line.”

Specializing in the recycling industry, Sargents Equipment has the experience, knowledge and expertise to service any piece of equipment, from material handling to stationary processing equipment. The company provides customers with local support from two Illinois locations: its south Chicago Heights headquarters and Gilberts branch. Factory trained technicians are dispatched any time, day or night, with fully equipped trucks to quickly identify issues and service equipment in the field.

Sargents Equipment offers financing options for Terex Fuchs material handlers through Terex Financial Services (TFS). TFS offers a wide range of effective finance and leasing solutions, structured to complement customers’ cash flow and budgets. The TFS team assists in all areas of asset management, from the analysis of future equipment values through the disposal of used equipment.

Sargents Equipment’s headquarters is located at 281 E. Sauk Trail, So. Chicago Heights, IL, 60411.
