Rubble Master will be featured in an upcoming episode of “The Economic Report” as part of the show’s series on environmental impact.

Making large stones into smaller ones. It sounds deceptively simple, but it’s vital to the construction, landscaping and cement industries. Until now, large amounts of demolition rubble have been trucked to stationary facilities to be processed into clean uniform rubble. The economic and ecological price for transporting all this rock both ways — sometimes back to the same place it came from — can be too high in this day of budgetary and environmental concerns.

Originating in Austria, with North American headquarters in Montreal, Quebec, Rubble Master provides a line of mobile, compact recyclers that feature integrated soundproofing dust suppression systems and reduced emissions. Powered by a diesel-electric drive system, these machines consume less fuel and are more environmentally friendly than most other designs, the company said.

The final size of the rubble can be set by the user and the system clears any reinforcing steel that may be present in the case of demolition projects. The Rubble Master system requires only one operator and the diesel-electric drive concept increases efficiency by 20 to 30 percent.

“The trend is clearly towards more recycling and also to more onsite recycling, both because of economic and regulatory drivers,” said Nikolaus Hottenroth, business development manager of Rubble Master. “We intend to stay on the leading edge of providing state-of-the-art equipment for onsite processing of demolition waste and onsite crushing of natural rock.”

The compact but powerful impact crushers range from the RM60 mobile starter model with hook lift, weighing 13.2 tons (12 t), to the new class in mobile recycling, the RM100 at 30.8 tons (28 t).

“The Economic Report” can be seen on a variety of cable channels throughout the week, including Discovery Channel, CNN, CNN Headline News and MSNBC.
