Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) introduced a new series of robotic total stations specifically designed and configured for the construction market. The new instruments are designed for applications such as stakeout and as a key component of a local positioning system, which is used for 3D machine control.
This auto-tracking total station series combines the latest in tracking, motorized turning, angle accuracy and software technology “to set a new industry standard,” according to Scott Langbein, TPS director of product marketing.
“The PS-AS has a strong prism-tracking ability and the fastest reacquisition time in the industry,” he said. “Tracking faster with high accuracy measurements equates to a savings of time and money on every job.”
Top features include TSshield — Topcon’s advanced security and maintenance technology, PowerTrac technology to increase prism tracking power and a “fast and powerful EDM,” he said. “Additionally, the new series includes Topcon’s exclusive LongLink communications technology, advanced angle accuracy and a water resistant IP65 design.”
Data collector software options include Topcon’s Pocket3D or magnet field site.
The PS-AS series is available in 1 and 3 arc second interval versions. The standard kit includes two batteries, dual-tray battery charger, USB flash drive and accessories.
