For the second time in 2009, Topcon Tierra, a world leader in remote asset management telematics solutions, has been honored with a major construction industry award. The latest award received was the Constructech Magazine’s Silver Vision Award. Earlier this year, Topcon Tierra also won the M2M (Machine to Machine) Value Chain Award for the construction category.
“Topcon’s Tierra telematics solution uses advanced GPS technology and a simple back-office, web-based communications system to reduce costs and increase productivity … essential elements in today’s competitive construction environment,” according to Mark S. Bittner, senior vice president and general manager of Topcon’s Telematics Business Unit.
“We are pleased to have won this prestigious award and to be recognized among an impressive list of competitors,” Bittner said. “We would like to acknowledge T.J. Lambrecht Construction for their role as a collaborative partner in helping to enhance our solution. Their hands-on experience was invaluable to us in developing functionality and features that contractors can use to improve operations.”
The Constructech Vision Awards honor companies that have realized the advantages of applying innovative technologies to their everyday businesses as well as the technology enablers that have helped them achieve their goal.
Companies involved in residential, commercial, and heavy construction, professionals in all trades, architectural and engineering firms, corporate owners, facility management companies, government agencies, and land developers are eligible for a Constructech Vision Award.
“In today’s market, construction companies must face new challenges head on, and bring customers the most affordable, quality product they can. This goal can be achieved with the use of the right technology solutions,” said Mike Carrozzo, chief editor, Constructech magazine. “The companies named as Vision Award winners recognize this necessity, and have become more successful as a result of implementing technology.”
